Dreamers Alliance

The Dreamers Alliance Initiative began as a call to action to reduce barriers and open up opportunities for young people in Melbourne and in the broader community.

Today, the Alliance works to unleash the power of communities working together to provide young emerging leaders with the tools and support they need to scale their impact and turn their hope into meaningful action. We are guided by a belief in the power of hope, and the idea that ordinary people working together can bring about change. It’s a belief reflected in our mission, and core to our work as we build the Alliance.

To bring that belief to life, our programs are designed to empower those emerging leaders to reimagine their communities and address issues they care about, from creating pathways to opportunity for young people, to protecting the environment and finding new ways to get people engaged in local organisations.

The past year saw many new initiatives at the Alliance, but it was also a year of listening. We looked to citizens, advocates, and leaders to help us understand how we could create a network of change. We’re already putting what we’ve learned into practice, incorporating community feedback into how we shape our programs and our trainings.

The Alliance is working hard to identify and support young emerging leaders, whether it’s amplifying the impact of established change-makers like our Fellows and Scholars, offering substantive training programs to emerging voices in our communities, or breaking down barriers for our young people so that they can thrive and lead as well.

As we look toward the future of the Alliance, we see a lot of progress ahead. As a start-up in one of the world’s most liveable city, we have a scrappy mindset and a broad ambition. We will have triumphs and we will have setbacks, but together, we will create a movement of engaged citizens who are changing their communities, nations, and ultimately, their world.

Get Involved
We’ve spent the last year developing programs and opportunities for you to get involved in a variety of ways. From civic leaders who are already making an impact in their communities to people looking for a place to start, we invite you to explore our work and dive in.

We’re building a team that anyone can join. And we hope you’ll be a part of it.
