This report, commissioned by the UK Department of International Trade has highlighted the immense potential for mobile commerce in Africa and its ability to contribute to the economic transformation of the continent.

The report Towards a Flourishing Digital Economy for All – A Spotlight on Africa, which was launched at a thought leadership breakfast on the side-lines of the 2022 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, was prepared in partnership with Mobile World Live and examines the various challenges and opportunities around the sector in emerging markets, particularly in Africa. It further examines how the mobile industry and its partners are working to open up a $180 billion market opportunity by 2025 with the widespread belief that Africa’s innovative and dynamic technology community of entrepreneurs can overcome logistical and technological barriers to help Africa become a flourishing hub for digital trade.
